NFG registration is intended for therapists and coaches who wish to demonstrate that they deliver quality. Below you can read the requirements for each register. After your NFG registration, clients and health insurers can see that you meet the requirements.
Registration with the NFG
Would you like to register with the NFG? You can do so if you have sufficient education and experience — and can demonstrate this. The NFG has registered members and aspirant members (for students).
Choose the register that suits you
Department of Psychosocial and Social Work (EQF 6 or 7).

VPMW & VIG Terms and Conditions
The conditions below apply to registration in the VPMW or VIG register. Are you unsure? Our review committee ultimately assesses every application.
For Psychosocial Therapists / Psychosocial Care Providers.
For Psychosocial Therapists who are also trained and work as Naturopathic Therapists.
You provide health-based (curative) care: aimed at maintaining or restoring mental health, coping with normal life problems, and treating dysfunctional behavior.
You perform visibly complementary work — we assess this based on your website and Chamber of Commerce registration, among other things.
In that case, registration in this department is not possible. Please check the Coach Register below. Coaching work as a Psychosocial Counselor naturally remains unavoidable.
Completed complementary education at least at HBO level*, or a 4-year program with an ECP certificate**.
Completed regular higher professional education (NVAO) in the humanities + at least 27 ECTS of complementary therapeutic training at post-HBO level***.
Basic psychosocial knowledge**** (haptotherapists choose between basic psychosocial or medical knowledge).
Enrollment in VIG is only possible with both a psychosocial and an alternative naturopathic higher professional education.
Willingness to participate in peer supervision and/or supervision, further training, and literature study. View the re-registration rules.
** The ECP certificate must be approved by the CUP.
*** This complementary post-HBO level course must be accredited by CPION, SKB, or SNRO.
**** The training must in principle have been completed after January 1, 1989. Please inquire with the NFG secretariat whether your PSBK or MBK is sufficient/recognized.

Are you unsure if you qualify?
Email us your full CV and indicate in which register you wish to be registered. We will assess, without obligation, whether NFG registration is possible for you — the review committee makes the final decision.
NFG registration: here is how to proceed
Do you want to register? Then start with the requirements of the professional group that matches your work. Read those requirements carefully. You will then see which education, experience, and documents are required for registration with the NFG.

What can you expect after registration?
After your NFG registration, you are listed in the NFG register. Clients can find you in the member finder. Health insurers can also check whether you meet the requirements. Check for yourself which insurers reimburse your treatments, for example with the reimbursements checker.
